IONIA. Teos. Circa 500-475 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 11.83 g). Griffin, with curved wings, seated to right on ornamented ground line, raising left foreleg; between his legs, M-E. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer 12 corr. (A12/P16, but M below griffin not described). SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock -. Traité I 500 and pl. XIII, 4 (same dies). Lightly toned and with a boldly struck griffin of powerful style. Slightly granular and with minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
